William Orr joined the Arizona State University Police Department in 1991 after graduating from the Arizona Law Enforcement Training Academy (ALETA) in Tucson, Arizona. Upon completing the academy he was assigned to Patrol Operations.
William promoted to Corporal in January of 1994, Sergeant in August of 1995 and Commander in May of 2008. During this time William has served in several capacities in the department: Field training officer, detective, rangemaster, crime prevention, and motors. Duties as of sergeant were Patrol, Crime Prevention, Evidence, Firearms, Motors, Defensive Tactics, Criminal Investigation, and Patrol Commander at the Tempe, Polytechnic and Phoenix Bureau.
William has successfully completed numerous law enforcement related training courses and certifications and is a graduate of the 244th session of the FBI National Academy.
William has received numerous college credits and is currently working toward his bachelor’s degree.
