Dr. Sue Annie Rodríguez De Jesús is the Senior Project Manager of the Positive Environments for Adolescents and Children Lab (PEAC Lab) at Arizona State University (ASU). The PEAC Lab is a learning laboratory that focuses on the role of contextual influences in children and adolescents’ development, both in terms of their well-being and psychopathology. Her scholarly research expertise focuses on understanding resiliency factors amongst diverse and marginalized (e.g., minority, immigrant, and low-income) populations. Most of her research training centers around factors associated with risk and resilience among diverse populations – particularly Hispanics - with the goal of identifying cultural, family, and contextual factors that either support or undermine the development and well-being of this population, particularly during adolescence and young adulthood. Her work showcases the importance of family and peer dynamics on youth development as well as sociocultural factors that play a significant role among vulnerable populations while identifying factors that promote resiliency.
Dr. Rodríguez De Jesús has more than fourteen years of conducting research amongst diverse and marginalized populations. Before joining the PEAC Lab, she was a mixed-methods Senior Research Scientist in Action Lab at EdPlus in ASU. Also, she worked as a Research Analyst in the Biostatistics Core in the College of Health at ASU. Rodríguez De Jesús earned her Ph.D. in Family and Human Development with a focus on quantitative methodology from ASU. She is certified Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt from Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at ASU.
