I am an instructional designer and project manager with an extensive background in online education. Currently I am assisting faculty in using educational technologies to improve student learning and outcomes. A key focus of my work focuses on blended learning, the reduction of classroom seat time through the use of online activities that are used in a pedagogical manner.
The focus of my research is on the faculty workload issues that arises when faculty begin to develop blended learning courses. I am investigating how faculty members manage the workload of their current teaching load, research, and service while preparing courses that will be taught in a future semester.
In addition, I am active with Quality Matters. I was the first Institutional Representative for ASU (2007-2013) and developed a three-year implementation plan. This plan was the first one that was accepted by QM from an Arizona institution. I have also been part of the Arizona QM Statewide Consortium since it’s founding. In addition to being a certified Master Reviewer, I am also a certified QM Facilitator for both online and face-to-face workshops.
