As Executive Director, Global Services at the University Design Institute, Dawn Straw works to advance UDI’s mission of transformation for global higher education. As a key steward of UDI’s capabilities as a global transformation partner, Dawn oversees UDI’s portfolio of programs and services and helps universities and systems determine how to utilize these programs and services to support their own transformation journey.
Dawn has over 20 years of experience in higher education, primarily designing learning solutions and leading collaborations between external stakeholders and universities. She joined ASU in 2008 and has held roles in the Office of Global Academic Initiatives, the Thunderbird School of Global Management, and the W. P. Carey School of Business. She served as Executive Director, Global Academic Initiatives, working in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to develop, facilitate and promote pan-university and public-private partnership engagement models to promote educational access and opportunity, academic excellence and international impact on behalf of the university. Dawn held the role of Executive Director, External Relations and Partnerships for the Thunderbird School of Global Management where she worked closely with the heads of Thunderbird’s global centers of excellence to bring Thunderbird programs, learning assets and partnership models to global markets. She served as Chief Operating Officer of Thunderbird Executive Education and Executive Director of the W. P. Carey Center for Executive and Professional Development.
Dawn holds a MS in Higher Education Management from the University of Pennsylvania, an MBA from the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, and a BS in Corporate Communication from the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College.
