Bring me your safety questions, great and small, and if I don't know, I'll find out for you! There is no such thing as a dumb question. Any procedure that has been done before has a safe way to perform it. If you need to evaporate acid, I'll tell you how to do it safely and even protect the building's vacuum lines. If you need to electrospin in a flammable solvent, I'll tell you how to do it so that it won't catch fire. If you're considering becoming pregnant or helping someone become pregnant, I'll help you assess teratogen hazards and mitigate the risks. If you’re going to work with a pyrophoric substance, we’ve got training for that. I love hearing from students, staff, and faculty. You can call or e-mail me, or stop by my office.
I acquired my B.S. in Pre-Forensic Chemistry at Northern Arizona University and interned at the DPS Phoenix Regional Crime Lab. At Oregon State University, I attained a Thesis M.S. in Organic Chemistry and published my work on Stereospecific Reagent-Controlled Homologation with Tetrahedron Letters. I also had the pleasure of teaching undergraduate students in Chemistry there, in both classroom and lab. I also did work in test error-checking and manual testing of donor blood for blood banks and hospitals with Creative Testing Solutions.
