Bio

Heather Pon-Barry joined the School of Computing, Informatics, and Decision Systems Engineering as an Assistant Professor in January 2013. She received her PhD in Computer Science from Harvard University. Heather’s research focuses on spoken language processing and the development of personalized, intelligent speech interfaces. She has experience building intelligent tutoring systems and dialogue systems for in-car use. Her broad research interests include natural language processing, machine learning, artificial intelligence, educational technology, and cognitive science.
