Harvey Bryan is a specialist in building technology who has written more than 100 papers and articles, many of which focus on the interface between technology and the design of ecologically responsible environments. He has previously taught at Massachusett's Institute of Technology and Harvard University and is currently a full professor at Arizona State University, where his research received support from numerous public and private sponsors. Professor Bryan is active in several professional and technical societies; he has served on the ASHRAE committee responsible for developing the 90.1 Energy Standard, is presently serving on the ASHRAE TC 2.8 and SPC 189 committees which are concerned with Buildings Impact on the Environment, as well as the AIA's Committee on the Environment. He was on the Board of Directors of the Arizona Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council and is certified in both BREEAM (a rating system widely used in Europe and Canada) as well as LEED. He is currently serving on the Board of Directors on the Green Building Initiative which developed the Green Globes' rating system. Professor Bryan has a B.Arch. from Arizona State University, an M.Arch., M.S. and a Ph.D., all from the University of California at Berkeley, he is a Fulbright Fellow, a fellow of the American Institute of Architects as well as a fellow of the American Solar Energy Society.
