As an undergraduate I studied abroad in Mexico for a semester and it was a life changing experience. It led this lifetime resident of Mt. Vernon, Iowa to do two years of service in Ecuador as a Peace Corps Volunteer followed by ten years of study abroad advising in Iowa, Wisconsin, Texas and Arizona. I first came to ASU, as a study abroad advisor in 1999, followed by advising exploratory students in University College (4 years), agribusiness students in Morrison School (2 ¼ years) students in the School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning (5 years) and Politics and Global Studies students (2015- present). I am excited to be here as it combines my own areas of academic interest with my professional and international background in an academic environment that encourages our students to explore all the opportunities our school has to offer them both at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
