Christopher Speranza joined the Arizona State University Police Department in June 1999 and has held a variety of assignments, including Field Training Officer, Sergeant, (Patrol, Crime Prevention, Evidence, Special Events, Advanced Training, and Criminal Investigations), and Patrol Commander (West and Downtown Phoenix Campuses).
He is credited with creating the first ASU PD Canine Program in partnership with the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), the Crime Analysis program, and the Drug Take Back program.
Commander Speranza is also the only ASU Police Officer to receive the department’s Medal of Valor for saving the life of an ASU student. Christopher is a member of ASU’s Student Assistance Coordination Committee (SACC) and the Behavioral Response Team (BRT). He is also a member of the Arizona chapter of the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP), Arizona Homicide Investigators Association (AZHIA), and the International Association for Property and Evidence, Inc. (IAPE).
He holds a BS degree in Public Agency Service and a Master of Education from Northern Arizona University. He is also a graduate of the 263rd class of the FBI's National Academy (FBINA)
