Research Interests

Lisa Anderson's current research interests include the performance of gender, and race and gender in popular culture. Her most recent book, Black Feminism in Contemporary Drama, was published by University of Illinois Press in 2008.  She is currently working on a project on the semiotics of race and gender, and a study of the influence of genomics research on individuals' understanding of "race." She teaches graduate and undergraduate courses on film, representation, and performance in WGS.
