Bio

Dr. Pasqualetti is Professor in the School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning at Arizona State University, and co-director of the Energy Policy Information Council (EPIC). He was appointed by two Arizona governors to chair the Arizona Solar Energy Advisory Council, and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Arizona Solar Center. He is on the Advisory Board for the FPL Energy-TCU-Oxford University Wind and Environment Research Partnership. He is Associate Editor of Environmental Sciences: Journal of Integrative Environmental Research, and is on the editorial boards of International Journal of Low Carbon TechnologiesLand Use PolicyThe Open Environmental Journal, Computational Water, Energy, and Environmental Engineering (CWEEE), Challenges in Sustainability, Current Advances in Environmental Science (CAES), and Energy Research and Social Science. 

Past recognition includes Honors Research Professor (ASU), Environmental Educator of the Year (Association of Energy Engineers), Lifetime Achievement Award (Renewable Energy Task Force), Visiting Faculty Fellow (Barrett Honors College), Co-Curricular Professor of the Month (ASU), and was a finalist for the ASU Professor of the Year.

Dr. Pasqualetti offers several classes, including The Thread of Energy, Energy in the Global Arena, Energy and Environment, Geography of Natural Resources, Renewable Energy and Sustainability, Solar Energy Policy, and the Geography of the U.S. and Canada.

He was twice elected President of the Energy and Environment Specialty Group of the Association of American Geographers, and has served as advisor to the US Congressional Office of Technology Assessment, the Natural Resources Defense Council, Resources for the Future, the US Department of Energy, the US Nuclear Regulatory Council, the National Academy of Sciences, and the Arizona Energy Office.

Dr. Pasqualetti has published books on wind power, nuclear power plant decommissioning, and landscape development, as well as articles on several energy and environment topics.

He has worked in the U.S., Mexico, Canada, the United Kingdom, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Palestine, and the United Arab Emirates.
