Bio

 Randy Gibb, Associate Professor, is the Department Chair of Technology Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management at Arizona State University’s Polytechnic Campus and the College of Technology and Innovation (CTI).  His department has the following programs: Aviation, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Environmental Resource Management, Graphics Information Technology, and Technology Entrepreneurship & Management.  Randy is an Arizona State University alumni, earning both his MSE in 1996, and PhD in 2007, from the Industrial Engineering Department in Human Factors.   Randy previously served 26 years in the US Air Force and retired as a Full Colonel in 2012.  While in the Air Force he flew 6 different aircraft (T-38, C-5, C-21, T-1, T-52, T-3) mostly teaching/training people how to fly, commanded two flying units, served as Chair of the Behavioral Sciences and Leadership Department at the US Air Force Academy, and was a Senior Military Professor at the USAF Institute of Technology at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, OH.  His research expertise is within aviation safety and he has specifically addressed spatial disorientation and is the lead author of a book, Aviation Visual Perception: Research, Misperception, & Mishaps, published in 2010.  He earned his undergraduate degree from the US Air Force Academy in 1986, where he was a Distinguished Graduate and the Outstanding Graduate in Behavioral Sciences.  He earned his Air Force pilot wings at Williams AFB, in 1987.  He also holds an MA from the Naval Command & Staff College, Newport, RI, in 2000.  Randy is originally from Wisconsin.  He and his wife (who also earned her graduate degree from ASU) have been married for 25+ years and have four children.
