Dr. Shelly Potts is the Senior Director for the University Office of Evaluation and Educational Effectiveness (UOEEE). In this capacity, Shelly leads institutional effectiveness research, university assessment initiatives, the evaluation of university and externally-funded projects, and the administration of course evaluations, testing and exam/instructor evaluation processing. She has worked in the fields of in social science research, assessment, testing, and program evaluation for over 30 years and has provided consultation to approximately 200 colleges and universities. Shelly is a former President of the Arizona Evaluation Network and served as an evaluation consultant and an invited speaker for the U.S. Department of Education’s FIPSE Program annual Project Director meetings. Previously, Shelly served as Assistant Dean and Assistant Clinical Professor for ASU’s University College and as Interim Executive Director of ASU’s Division of Undergraduate Academic Services. Shelly earned a Ph.D. in Educational Policy Studies from ASU and degrees in counseling psychology (M.A.) and psychology (B.A.) from Ball State University and Purdue University, respectively.
