Bio
Barbara Colby is responsible forĀ administers the integrated
studies degree program, which requires separate admission and a higher
grade requirement than other liberal arts and sciences degrees. Colby
administers and serves ex officio on the college's Student Affairs and
Grievance Committee, which, among other duties, hears cases of
academic malfeasance. She also manages registration issues such as
late add and late withdraw and reviews medical/compassionate
withdrawal requests and makes recommendations to the dean.
Colby holds a bachelor's degree in English literature from the
University of Massachusetts and a master's degree in philosophy from
ASU. She is a faculty associate in the department of philosophy. Colby
was an academic advisor for many years and has earned both teaching
and advising awards. She has been at ASU since 1965.
