Bio

Dr. Hilary Pierce first came to ASU as the Executive Director for a $33.7 million Teacher Quality Partnership grant (ASU NEXT) supporting the Teaching Foundations Project, iTeachAZ reform initiatives as well as implementation of the TAP model in over 50 low performing schools across the state of Arizona.   Dr. Pierce brings more than 18 years of K-12 classroom and administrative experience.   Dr. Pierce’s teaching career has centered around K-12 public education in both middle school and alternative education where she earned several awards including the Yavapai County Teacher of the Year.  While serving in district office administration, Dr. Pierce led school improvement initiatives supporting significant student achievement growth resulting in highly performing schools.  In 2008, Dr. Pierce earned her doctorate at Northern Arizona University in Educational Leadership.  Due to her commitment to impact education through quality programs and teacher preparation, Dr. Pierce enjoys teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses in methods and leadership, and has made numerous conference presentations on coaching, mentoring and the change process.  Dr. Pierce is committed to making a difference for children by supporting the development of the very best teachers graduating from the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College.
