Bio

Megan Jehn, Ph.D.,M.H.S. is a epidemiologist and member of the School of Human Evolution and Social Change at Arizona State University. She is the Approach Head for Global Health. She also holds affiliate appointments at the Global Institute for Sustainability, the ASU Decision Theater and the School of Public Affairs. Dr. Jehn received her Ph.D. from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health in Clinical Epidemiology with a specialization in Nutritional Epidemiology. Dr. Jehn teaches epidemiology and quantitative research methods.

Research Interests

My research interests include the application of quantitative research methods and technological innovations to improve public health emergency preparedness. My emergency preparedness research program uses simulation and visualization tools to help policy makers understand and make better decsions about complex problems. My colleagues and have developed six emergency preparedness exercises to date focusing on pandemic influenza, anthrax attacks, and legal preparedness. These exercises are used by state and local health departments to assist with capabilities-based planning and public health preparedness. The exercise development process is also embedded in a larger research process, which includes a variety of assessment tools supported by modeling, simulation, and social-science metrics.
