Bio

Associate Professor, Department of Engineering, College of Technology and Innovation

Darryl Morrell is currently an associate professor of engineering at Arizona State University, where he is participating in the design and implementation of a multi-disciplinary undergraduate engineering program using innovative, research-based pedagogical and curricular approaches. He has been actively involved in the development of open educational resources; these resources include an introductory textbook on engineering at the high school level for the CK-12 Foundation as well as a series of modules on MATLAB Programming with the Connexions project. His technical research interests include stochastic decision theory applied to sensor scheduling and information fusion, and, more recently, application of research based pedagogy to engineering education. He is a member of the American Society for Engineering Education and a senior member of the IEEE. He serves as the treasurer of the Phoenix chapters of the IEEE Communications/Signal processing Society and the IEEE Education Society.
