Ms Hurst is currently the Director, Compensation for Arizona State University. In this role, she is responsible for directing the development and administration of the University’s Compensation and Classification Program for over 10,000 staff. Prior to joining ASU, Ms Hurst held various senior leadership positions with responsibility for total compensation and reward programs involving base, incentive, deferred and sales components and has been the Project Manager of several successful HRIS/ERP implementations. Additionally, as Vice President for a compensation consulting firm located in the local metropolitan Phoenix area, she has completed numerous classification and compensation studies of other institutions of higher education, state, city, tribal and county entities nationwide as well as developed and implemented custom job evaluation systems. Her professional experience spans 25 years across multiple industries in both not-for-profit and for profit organizations.
Ms Hurst received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a Minor in Human Resource Management from The State University of New York at Buffalo. Additionally, she holds a Master’s degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix and has been a member of WorldatWork for over 25 years including 1 year as a faculty member associated with their Public Sector offering facilitating the course on Broadbanding for Public Sector Employers. She currently is an Officer of the Arizona Total Rewards Association and serves as Treasurer and was a presenter on the topic of Compensation Analytics: Numbers, Statistics & Measuring as part of the HR IPQC Compensation quarterly national webinar conference.
