Sandra Houston is a professor in the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment at Arizona State University. Houston joined the ASU in 1984. Her areas of expertise include geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering. In addition to her many research and teaching projects, Houston served as the chair for the Soil Properties and Modeling Committee, ASCE Geo-Institute and has been active in mentoring junior women faculty through various National Science Foudation Women in Engineering Programs.
