Prerequisite courses may be needed in order to complete the requirements of this minor.

GPA Requirement: None
Incompatible Majors: All music majors
Other Enrollment Requirements: Students must successfully complete an audition before the faculty in the applicable instrument area for entrance into the program. Audition criteria and specific audition requirements are determined by area faculty and are similar to the MUP 111 and MUP 311 enrollment criteria for each instrument. Students interested in pursuing the performance minor should submit an application (at the bottom of the page).
Advisors should not add the minor until the student presents a letter from the School of Music, Dance and Theatre Office of Academic Affairs to confirm that the student has successfully passed the audition.
Current ASU undergraduate students may pursue a minor and have it recognized on their ASU transcript at graduation. Minor requirements appear on the degree audit once the minor is added. Certain major and minor combinations may be deemed inappropriate by the college or department of either the major or the minor program. Courses taken for the minor may not count toward both the major and the minor.
Minor programs empower students to build complementary competencies, enhancing the marketable knowledge and skills gained through their majors.
Graduates with a minor in music performance gain valuable experience that can support careers in arts administration, teaching, business and beyond, giving them a competitive edge in a wide range of fields.

3 year programs
These programs allow students to fast-track their studies after admission and earn a bachelor's degree in three years or fewer while participating in the same high-quality educational experience of a 4-year option. Students should talk to their academic advisor to get started.
Accelerated master's
These programs allow students to accelerate their studies to earn a bachelor's plus a master's degree in as few as five years (for some programs).
Each program has requirements students must meet to be eligible for consideration. Acceptance to the graduate program requires a separate application. Students typically receive approval to pursue the accelerated master’s during the junior year of their bachelor's degree program. Interested students can learn about eligibility requirements and how to apply.
