The Bachelor of Arts program in global health is a transdisciplinary degree program that provides students with the skills and perspectives they need to understand and solve health challenges across the globe, while accounting for cultural, historical, biological and ecological factors.
Students learn to identify critical health issues, ask the right questions, and create the kinds of meaningful and effective solutions that top employers demand. Students participate in an approved global health study abroad program alongside faculty experts. A variety of destinations and topics are available.
Faculty in the School of Human Evolution and Social Change are recognized internationally for their work on pressing global health problems, such as health inequalities, chronic disease, family health, water and food insecurity, obesity and stigma, emergent infectious disease, resource management and evolutionary medicine.

Training in global health provides enormous and varied career opportunities, both national and international, and demand is high and growing for graduates with these skills. The major program supports the goals of those pursuing careers in health services, academic and applied research, and teaching. Potential employers include:

- international agencies (World Health Organization, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Global Health Council, World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank)
- nongovernmental organizations

The degree program also provides a broad intellectual base for those who plan advanced specialist health training in fields such as:

In Arizona and elsewhere, there is a pressing need for professionals with appropriate skills to work in cross-cultural settings or with underserved populations such as migrants, minorities and those living in poverty; many of these jobs are directly or indirectly related to health.

3 year programs
These programs allow students to fast-track their studies after admission and earn a bachelor's degree in three years or fewer while participating in the same high-quality educational experience of a 4-year option. Students should talk to their academic advisor to get started.
Accelerated master's
These programs allow students to accelerate their studies to earn a bachelor's plus a master's degree in as few as five years (for some programs).
