General studies classes fulfill undergraduate graduation requirements. General Studies Gold classes are required for students enrolled in catalog year 2024-2025 or later. General Studies Maroon classes are required for students enrolled in catalog year 2023-2024 or earlier.

Concurrent degree programs are specially designed academic programs which allow students the opportunity to complete two distinct but complementary bachelor degrees at the same time. Students must meet minimum admission standards for both programs and be accepted individually by both colleges offering the concurrent program.

This is an ASU General Studies requirement. All students enrolled in a baccalaureate degree program must satisfy the university requirement of a minimum of 29 credit hours of approved General Studies coursework. See General Studies.

Completion of an associate of arts degree from an regionally accredited community college or university in the United States, completion of the Arizona AGEC, or California IGETC/CSUGE will satisfy all lower division General Studies requirements. See General Studies.

Please note: ASU will accept transfer credit for coursework you have successfully completed at regionally accredited institutions of higher education, earned through credit by examination and/or military experience as indicated on a Joint Service Transcript. The applicability of a specific course towards a degree depends on when the transfer course was taken and the requirements of the department, division, college, or school in which you are enrolled at ASU. Upper-division courses are advanced level designed primarily for juniors and seniors and are numbered from 300 to 499 at ASU. Search ASU's Academic Programs and read program requirements.
